Default The Welsh at the 2011 Nationals...

Hi all...

After our growing turnout at last years regionals and winter indoor series this year, and the dishing out of some good F grades for some people, I'm wondering how many of us are going to put them to use and head out to the best tracks in the UK (and the most fun weekends away) to challenge the the best of the rest of the country at this years nationals?

Final entry date is approaching, so anyone considering it should get them in soon...me included

I did them for the first time last year, and loved every minute of it! If you've not done them before, and are considering entering, they are the best run events your likely to enter, with some of the closest and most fun racing you'll get anywhere, and you get lessons in how it should be done from watching the A finals...so stop thinking about it and get yourself entered!!!

Be good to get a good crowd out there this year, and the more that do it the cheaper it might be for everyone with lift shares if we get organised...

I've sent an entry off for the round at Talywain - longshot but worth a try.
My racing this year is likely to be restricted to a couple of WRCAs

I had plans to do the whole of the Nationals this year ( if i got entry's accepted of course ) last year, but sometime's life just gets in the way

I cannot guarantee i will be available for any whole weekend up to Septemeber now, so instead of having to pull out i havent entered any at all.

Ill try to do 4 rounds of the WRCA to get a grade for next year but thats about it unfortunately.

Hopefully next year...

I heard a rumour you might be having an affair with the dark side Griff

I'm hoping someone else I know books in...as much as I love racing...and I know there tons of other rc people there...weekends away almost on your own just aren't the same!!!

The only one I can manage this year will be Talywain - assuming I get further up the list than R15 for 2wd and R12 for 4wd!!

Well, I'm now R11 (2wd) and R8 (4wd) for Taly.

Good luck to all of you who are nationalising this weekend

Hehe...nearly...

I got mid/top order J final both days...so equalled my best results from last year in my first outing this year, and haven't done that on both days ever before, so very chuffed with that!

Would like to stick it in the I final at some point this season...reckon I've got it in me as the season moves on. Car setups got better and better each day, and I reckon there's still progress I can make on that front too. I was showing in higher finals at various points though both days, but it's very competitive!

Only 1 or 2 F5's got in, 1 or 2 F4's, and only a handful of F3's really....entries totally dominated by F1's and F2's...so really close racing! And a point to remember for anyone trying to get an entry in next years nats...get in the regionals and give it your best shot..you'll need the best F grade you can to stand a chance of an entry!

Paul got top end of the L in 2wd and top end of the K final in 4wd.

Belston got his best ever 2wd result and a good result in 4wd too, but can't remember the details of those.

Not sure on his 2wd, but Griff had a rough day in 4wd...electrical problems meant he only recorded 1 proper score out of the 4 qualifiers, but he still out qualified me (only by 2 places though!) with that 1 score! Topped the J final and would have won it by a mile but was having a little fun I think and binned on the last bend much to the amusement of the shouting crowds to come 2nd in the end.

Top weekend...roll on Robin Hood
