Winter outdoor racing tips
So given the latest Covid announcements it looks like October when most clubs move indoors won't be happening due to the new government guidelines.
With that in mind it looks like we will be racing outdoors October / November so what tips and tricks can people share and what additional gear will people be purchasing? I am probably going to be getting some gel hand warmers & a transmitter muff for them cold days. Should be some interesting racing if we end up on frozen tracks!

Blutack around your sensor lead plugs to stop water getting in.

We race outdoor all year anyway.
The only difference to me is my shorts get swapped for jeans, and the cooler box replaced with a gas stove and kettle. Maybe a woolly hat if it's below freezing. If you want to go to town with waterproofing, you can get liquid mask and pop the servo, RX and ESC apart and give them a coat inside on the PCBs. I'm not keen on the TX muffs, and don't like driving with gloves on either so I just grin and bear it for 5 minutes then put gloves on to marshal. When it's been hoofing it down I have used a plastic carrier bag looped through my wrists to protect my TX in the past. Correct tyres for the colder / wetter conditions and just enjoy it (Ballistic Buggy greens for me).

If it's too cold for a run, obviously you are not a runner

We always run outside in the winter, would recommend getting some safety glasses/goggles, sounds daft I know, but this will stop your eyes watering👍🏁
