As far as the organisers are concerned the race is still on. The school was closed today but is due to open tomorrow (friday). The main roads around York are now clear of snow, but the school car park has a lot !!. Tonight is expected to be very cold.
The race is due to start at 1400 on Saturday so lets hope everyone can turn up for what should be a great race.

Mike

Hi All

Just to let you know that as of this moment in time the event is ON - will let you know if anything changes.

Just a few ideas/comments that might help all of us:-

1) Mains power leads will be run into the hall from power points that are not on the same trip switch as the computer
Hopefully it will be 1 per team, at worst 1 for 2 teams - it may help if team members were to bring some good quality extension leads
just in case more are needed.
2) Each team needs 1 main pit table for mechanicing, battery charging etc
3) Separate tables are planned to be supplied (school) for battery change overs - adjacent to the track area (not for working on).
4) If team drivers can bring other tables - just in case they are needed, it would help.
5) Please bring your own chairs etc.
6) CATERING
The club/model shop will be selling tea/coffee/cup-a-soup etc and cold drinks, crisps, choc bars etc during the event
(at reasonable prices).
There are a number of quite local fast food outlets, some that will deliver to the school (Steven Pierce was looking into this).
7) We will supply rubbish bags - please try and take your own rubbish home with you (we have limited resources re rubbish at the school)

AS IT STATES ON THE ENTRY FORM ALL CLUB INCOME FROM THE EVENT (LESS COSTS) WILL GO TO THE LISTED CHARITIES.

Hope you have a good event - Regards, Derek Bradby

Thanks for such a fun and well organised 24 hr event. Team Shambles had a really enjoyable time (despite coming in 7th place!) and cant wait to come back next year.
