Think you need correct drive shafts and the slipper plastic mounts come with the buggy

Not actually built mine yet, but it will be most likely be run with a slipper for most conditions, either the AE VTS or the AVID Triad (with red pads), will test over next few weeks to see which I prefer....

VTS cvd shafts
From what i can make out in the manual the front cvd shaft is the same with or without the VTS installed?
The rear is the only one that is different ?? Is there any need for the whole conversion kit or can you just buy 1/2 new cvd shafts for front and rear? Gaz

i had a brief go to see what i needed to fit the slipper clutch, and the front CVA is a few mm too long to allow me to get the slipper into the mounts. so it looks like you need the kit. though i didnt check wether the CVA's i still have for the 44.2 will fit. will have another look when i have a bit more time.

The shafts are not b44.2 shafts as the CVD kit for the 44.3 is 9947, plus the kit comes with front and rear shafts to replace the standard ones, I have tried fitting a b44.2 slipper assembly into my b44.3 and the front shaft is very slightly too long, they can't be b44.2 shafts as the motor assembly sits further forward in the car to allow rear motor fitment,
The only way is to buy the cvd kit 9947 to fit the shafts and then the slipper, I have even asked on AE wheelers on Facebook if anyone has modified the slipper clutch assembly to fit the standard shafts in the .3 but nobody has done it as the threaded part for the slipper adjustment would need to be cut off making it useless Why AE don't design a b44.3 clutch as a direct fit on the standard shafts is beyond me, even with the new shafts it's not a quick swap at trackside unless you strip the shafts out, so either way your stuck with one or the other with no option to change mid race meeting ??????

Think the idea was that they were getting beaten in the US by HB which runs a mid gear diff so decided to do the same as its what people were asking for. if your wanting to run a slipper, why not just take the gear diffs and put them in a .2 and run with the schelle chassis so you can convert to shorty or saddle |

Either way you will stick with one or the other in the uk and not swap really. I opened up both manuals for the 44.2 and 44.3 and the front cvd is the same length and part number by the way

Are people not liking the gear centre?
I was unsure but running it through winter and today on astro i like it. Tbh il never try a slipper in this car but with 100k it had enough drive etc and felt easily as good as .2 which i found best handling off the b44 variations.
