Default Setup for Indoor Wooden Gym Floor

Hi Folks

I intend running my B44 for the first time in a couple of weeks time once i complete the build and the rest of the upgrade parts are here.

Our club race TC only but a couple of us have began to get buggies again too to try and rekindle the genre.

Parts ill soon have available to me are :-

Full Spring set
ARB set
Front one way
Novak 6.5 GTB system

We use yellow 21mm minipins for the TC`s so ive got myself a set of those for the B44 and also some yellow full spikes to try ( these used to work great at our old wooden floor venue ! )

The track will be flat ( for now ), main straight is approx 50ft with numerous 90 degree turns usually. Lap times 15 to 18 seconds dependent upon the track.

So, i was wondering what springs/oils/shock positions/ride height etc you guys would recommend as a base setup please ? Should i fit the one way from new ?
Im a novice at setting cars up so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

( all the gear not much of an idea atm )

Thanks a lot !

Richard

Check Wonderflupke setup on carpet, he said he use this setup on a flat track as well as with some jumps!

Cheers Arno - only trouble is that our track is low grip and carpet is high grip. Surely that cant mean an identical setup ?

You will find that a carpet and wooden floor setup are infact very similiar for roll centre, toe in etc. I just put stiffer springs on normally.

You won't need anti-roll bars, but you may wish to run one on the rear to give more 'swing', to get round tighter corners.

Run soft inserts in the minipins (Ballistic white or Schumacher Grey).
Try the world's setup to start, this works on most tracks I believe.

I dont run a B44 but on my 501 most of the people at the club run rear anti-roll bars to help give the tail a bit more of a swing on the tight hairpins. We have quite a small hall so our tracks tend to be quite narrow at tight at times.

Might be worth trying narrower tyres all round, (like 4wd fronts on the front and back) very similiar to tourers. This can help give steering.

Might be worth giving Wezzer a PM on www.aeforums.co.uk as he has experience of B44 on polished floor.

I can chat to him in a week, as he will be racing.

I have seen fronts being used on the rear, it seems to work ok. I assume its something to do with the pressure on the individual spikes being greater as there doesnt seem to be the major grip loss you would expect.
