Ps3 is about to be kicked out of the house. Ive tried everything to get in online through the wireless router but it keeps coming back with I.p address failed even after ive manually put the address in!!

It works fine through a ethernet cable on the same router, so whats the fecks one????

What router are you using ? some are incompatible even though they claim to all use the same standards.

Just had a quick look on the 'net google searching "speedtouch aol ps3" and its not much use. About the most sensible thing one poster put was throw it away and get a Netgear which doesn't help you much. Can you change the channel on the router? I seem to remember I had to do that or summat with mine to get it to recognize my laptop, I think it was something about an MTU setting. Have you tried one of the ps3 forums, or the overclockers forum?

best advice I could give you is to get rid of the speedtouch and get yourself a proper router (linksys, netgear etc) that will be compatible.

You dont start 'proper' routers with Linksys but i would agree, provider provided equipment is normally pants.

If you can you wanna be on WPA, you can have a security word of your own choosing then, some older laptops/desktops don't like it, but most will. It's also more secure.
