Default Motors, which are best?

Hi guys,

I am after a new motor but not sure on which. I would prefer a 5.5/6.5, and possibly not Orca as I have had my problems with mine...

Cheers,
Sam

Suggest you find one that uses a mixture of bearings, magnets, electrical components and a flat on the shaft. Good luck mate!

I was tempted to buy a secondhand one, but was put off by too many peoples horror stories.

So, shopped around and got a new HPI Flux 6.5 at a good price. (£45 I think). I also made sure that it was BRCA legal. Do some internet trawling and see what you can come up with. Pop the links on here and folks will give their advice...

Default Motor

If its going in a buggy look for a sealed type can. Tekin Redline for me in anything - sealed type can and very reliable !

Default GM

GM seem a goopd choice.
But...

Most modern brushless motors seem to be OK, all can go wrong, thems the joys of electrics/buggies....

So much choice and 10 people will prob give 10 different answers...

So pick one you can afford and is a reasonable make/well known.

I used a bullistorm 5.5t in my SC and was mega fast and reliable. and there cheap.
