Don't quote me on this but I think it's to do with the power draw on servo. I've heard of them doing it if you turn car off with battery still plugged in and move the wheels/servo by hand. Like it sends power into the esc or something.

Some people put 2 capacitors on, I think thats what I'd do if this happened.

its weird, anyway the ESC still works but I wont run it without, Ive ordered a new CAP, the CAP acts as a ballast.

and will attaché when I get it, might do 2wd this weekend if I get chance to get a leisure batt to charge with

Mine done this when i shorted the batteries by accident. It took the hit and the speedo survived. Soldered a new one on and it has been fine since.

Default Your cap has insufficient capacity

try getting a bigger capacitor. Remember what a capacitor does in a circuit. It's a bit like an overflow chamber - so if it overflows, then there is nowhere for the electricity to go.

Most common cause is if you short the Battery,
If you are quick you can save the ESC, If yours did without reversing polarity then check your wiring carefully as you may have a something causing a short.
The original Orion one can be bought alone.
