Default nimh cells making fizzing noises when discharging

I am returning to r/c racing after a few years break so anyone who can advise me I would be greatful. Thanks.

i have recently bought a few packs of new lrp vtec 3800mah cells. I have stored them without use for the last three weeks with about 15mins charge.

when i now go to discharge them at 10amps on my nosram stealth the cells bubble and fizz as if they are going to explode - so i quickly disconnected everything.

one set did not have this problem so i then transferred them to my lrp conditioning tray - again the fizzing noise but also with SMOKE coming from where the cells connect to the tray. The tray got red hot in about 5 secs at which point I disconnected everything again.

Does any one know whats going on here because i have a feeling something is about to explode in my face????

help!

Thanks
Ben.

sounds like you may have them on the board wrong, our tray gets hot if cells are placed in wrongly,
