Default Snap!

Ive just snapped a screw off dead flush in my CR chassis i wouldnt mind but its only had the f3's though it. It has barly got a mark on it. Any options its one of the ones that holds the front of the rear shock tower down. I know a new chassis is only 13 pound but its still annoying.

Ashley, try getting a drill bit the same size if possible as the screw thread, then SLOWLY try drilling it out in reverse.

Hope it works for ya

its scary, but i'm with ben here,

if possible, use a pedestal drill with the chassis clamped down so it wont slip, with a pedestal drill you will be able to raise / lower it slowly causing minimum damage to the chassis.

if not, put the chassis into a vice and drill it with a steady hand.

i wrecked the C hubs on my TA-05 by drilling it 'freehand'

Surely Ben is referring to an easy out, you can't drill in reverse with a normal drill bit.

got to be an easy-out....

If your gonna drill it, dril a pilot hole fist, a small 1mm or 1.5 mm drill bit first, so you can ensure your central to the screw, then go up in size.

Ash, if it is the hole I am thinking of (front mounting ears of the rear tower) then the two holes from underneath, that hold on the rear squat plate go straight up into the very same "long" hole. Try taking off your squat plate and screwing a long screw in from underneath and "catch" the stuck screw and turn it out that way. Has worked for me in the past with ease.

Darren you deserve an award!!!

Its out yay!!!!!!!

It was so difficult i had to hold the allen driver really tight and turn the chassis as a leaver. And i used motor spray to cool the screw to stop it stripping the head.

Awsome
