That was a few years ago as well Teddy! I've played footie with a couple of those players and one of them (Dave Challinor) is related to the missus and lives round the corner from me!
 That's where Bury FC train all year round on the Goshen fields, I believe the club has had some issues with the footie club as well over use of the field.

Funny - we were talking about this yesterday at the track.
I think the land is owned by the council, who lease it for use to the football club, use of the acuatual pitches for camping casues the friction. Not sure what the long term future of the track is as noises have been made about rebuilding the gym (burned down last year) on the ground the track is on. It will be a real shame if the track goes - in it's current guise it's the best it's ever been.
