hi there simon, Nathan Ralls here using trekkers pc, we have been doing loads of racing of late ie up to 3 times a week to get good base set ups for most sufaces so give me a couple of weeks to finalise things and i will be able to post safe easy to drive setups for high and low grip tracks, if you are going to tivvy this weekend i can post what stuart and i will be starting with to give you a starting point.

cheers

Yes please, I've gone back to kit camber links 35f and 25r oils with AE blues all round if it's too hard i will go to AE silvers. all inside on the top shock mounts and inside(f) outside(r) bottom shock positions, removed the shim for rear anti-squat aswell rest is as kit.Still using centre 1-way, may go for 10deg front carriers for sunday.

I spoke to one of the KyoshoUSA drivers the other day and they all have ZX-5's and racing them. If they don't post a setup sheet soon, I'll try to get it. The setup will be for a US off-road track though, so it'll be different than what you guys may run in the UK.

ran the zx5 on sunday at bury metro, wanted to keep running it as it was getting very good. Put the #75 yellow springs on the rear 35wt, and blue AE springs 40wt front.
short link on the front,
short outside and middle inside link on the back raised with 2 washers on the camber plate.

I didnt have the tyres to compete with the other guys in the rain though.

I asked Mark Pavidas what setup he was running on the ZX-5, but he doesn't have the car back yet. Still waiting on setup info from two other US drivers, but here is what Mark posted on the S-grid ......

Tony - the last time I ran the car was at the worlds and I cant
remember the settup. My car is still in Japan at Kyosho but Kyosho
America sent me a kit to build up. This is what I remember

Front:
- Yellow spring
- 400w kyosho oil
- large hole piston
- 10 deg caster blocks
- Middle hole in tower
- inside hole in the arm
- One way
- front ride height arms level

Rear:
- Blue springs (close to yellow rate)
- 350w kyosho oil
- large hole piston
- middle hole in tower (shocks)
- outside hole in arm (not sure on this one)

Tony, I frequent the grid myself, but I can't find this thread about the ZX-5. Can you direct me to it? Thanks for posting the setup info though. Looks like I've got some springs to order. I wonder if Kyosho has fixed the short front spring problem yet?

If you go to the main page on the grid, go to the electric forums. They have the ZX-5 thread over there.

On another note, there have been some rumors going around the Kyosho camp regarding Kortz, Cavaliere and Tebo, as well as the team manager, Regan Leblanc. From the sound of it, there may not be many factory boys racing the electrics . But rumors are rumors until they've been cleared by someone with the "know".

I have to get in touch with Scott Cramer of MaxSpeedDesigns.com for more Tony's Screws decals. I know he has the ZX5 and was going to work on getting the car setup for the indoor tracks out there where he lives at (OH/IL). He also said that David Joor from Avid Bearings was running a ZX5. These two guys are hard core on-road guys that really know their stuff when it comes to setups. Hopefully they have the car figured out so I know what option parts to get for my ZX5 when I get it here in a few weeks.

There is a HUGE Indoor race in Ohio in 3 weeks as well ...CRCRC The electrics are the first week and then Nitro the second. I'm going to the Nitro race to race my MBX5 and MSR X5T. But I look forward to some guys running the ZX5 for the electric series, posting their setups too.

I just got an email from my buddy that he got in a few ZX5's. Killer price too! Just need to wait a week or so before ordering it (my wife would blow a gasket if I got it now after spending how much on X-mas ....lol

Best regards,

Tony P.
