Default Lrp Q.C.3 set up and advice

Ive just bought one of these speed controllers as it was very cheap and to get me started until i can go brushless, the thing is tiny and comes without any connectors so im in a bit over my head (kinda thought it would be plug and play)

Does it matter what kind of connectors i use? i was thinking deans?

And also do i have to solder on the schottky diode that was included with it onto the motor? i plan on using a 19t motor with it.

Ive never soldered a thing in my life so im a bit worried about buggering it all up.

The 3wire setup confuses me aswell ive looked on the internet and the info i have found says i have to splice into the red positive wire to attach to the positive battery connection, is that right?

sorry for so many noob questions

Most people use corally or deans connectors, just depends on what you prefer and what type are easiest to use on your batteries.

You don't have to use the diode on the motor but it does help, just make sure you solder it on the correct way round (the silver line on the diode is the positive end) or you'll blow your speedo up!

Your right about having to cut a small slot in the red wire to solder on an extra wire for the postive battery connection
