Default LRP X12 5.5/6.5 Gearing

The recommended gearing for the above motors seems a but mental, so just wondering what have people successfully geared them too in 4wd offroad??

I run a 21T pinion on my 5.5 outdoors in the B44 and it seems to be mental down the straight, but buckets of get up and go out of the corners.

I run a 17T indoors on polished floor.

Reto from LRP told me to put the 6.5 on a ratio of 9.5

my X12 6.5 with 12mm rotor arrived today, with the -10 timing insert in and recommend gearing of 11.3:1!!??

Will it be dog slow with negative timing and am I right in thinking that's a dumbass gear ratio for 4wd offroad??
