Default Brushless Broke?

Got a strange problem with my brushless,

I'm running a Mamba Max esc with a Orion Vortex 6.5,

It had been working fine untill the last round on friday, it just went slow and stopped. We took it apart and thought it was cos it wasnt shimmed right, sorted the shims out and its the same

It turns over a VERY low throttle then just stutters, and the wires get hot too

Idea's anyone?

Thermalled out as in non-reversable damage?

Still didn't work when I tried it yesterday.

Do you have access to another motor? It could be something has come a-drift internally and something is shorting out (have a look, especially the sensor wire area), but only by testing the ESC with a different motor would tell if it is the ESC or motor at fault.

How the hell did you do manage that?? Indoors, 5.5, over geared (well over the recomended ratio by 2 teeth) and run till the 4200s nearly dumped in practice and still, 18 flashes (5 is thermal failure region!!)

If its the speedo, just send it to castle for repair, there great with customer service, even if it takes a while
