Default Kamtec or Team bluegroove?

Going to get a new shell for my Cat xls
Both the above traders on ebay do them
Has anyone used them before? & what is the quality of their shells?

Both have pros and cons, if you need the wing then the Kamtec shell does not come with one, but the TBG shell does. And if you need the undertray then the Kamtec shell comes with one, where the TBG one you need to buy seperately.

I've found both to be fine when it comes to quality

i`ve had shells from both and quality wise kamtec shells are better than the bluegroove ones.
i found that on the bluegroove shells the lexan thickness varies quite a lot and can be very thin in places, great for shelf queens but not so good for racing.

the yellow/green car has an original schumacher shell, red/yellow car has a kamtec shell and the other two are blue groove shells, they all fit the undertray ok.

Thanks. I like the squarer front end on the Kamtec.

btw I like your cars

With four you could start your own Procat racing club

Is the Kamtec also slightly wider at the back too, like the old Racecraft shells?

It is the old Racecraft shell they have taken the mould from, as you can tell by the extra air scoops moulded either side of the cockpit to make it different enough so Racecraft could sell the body without being done for copying.

The Bluegroove shell is taken from the proper Schumacher Procat body.

I thought it looked familiar! The Racecraft shells were thicker than stock back in the day too!

Keith makes quality stuff at an affordable price. He may be slow in making the molds but now you know why it took so long.

Still in business but they mould stuff for play equipment, etc and have no plans to go back into the RC shell making business.

I got in touch with them approx 18 months ago to enquire whether they still had the moulds for the old Optima Mid shell that they used to do.
