Brushless Motor Advice
Hi, I would like to change the current motor in my cougar for something with a little more speed. I am currently running a Novak 10.5t sensored motor. What are the specs I should look at when comparing motors as I see that not all say 6.5t brushless motors have the samer KV rating, should I be converting this to watts? I am thinking of a 6.5t motor, will be used on astro and carpet. Any help/advice much appreciated.

My son is still running a very mild 17.5 so I'm no expert, but I believe many people feel that 6.5 is too hot for a 2wd and choose 7.5 or 8.5 motors most of the time.

I feel 6.5 is too punchy and fast for 2wd. I'm wanting to get a 7.5-8.5 after christmas so go for a 7.5 i'd say.

Does the speedo have a turbo function? I run a LRP 8.5t with a linear rotor for wet conditions and when dry I run a orca 7.5t. The turbo functions on both of these motors make the buggy as quick as a 6.5t or quicker.
