Default xxx-4 g+ rear hinge pin height

Hi all,

As i'm new to the ways of the xxx-4, and i imagine there are loads of you who have had one in the past, i thought i'd ask for some advice....

i noticed that the rear hinge pin (and suspension arms) is raised quite a lot(from the chassis), and was wondering if people had done anything to lower it closer to the chassis? (as i imagine this would aid in handling).

I have tried to start this by (from what people have told me at the indoor finals) removing some of the material from the rear (front) hinge pin brace, then removing some of the chassis to stop the suspension arms catching on it. That was simple enough.

The only thing is, the height of the diff is the same still, and therefore, the driveshafts are at a massively acute angle to even get the wishbones level.

So, what did you guys do? Did you only remove a little bit off the brace? Or did you do anything else?

Cheers all,

Stan

I never did anything with mine.
Paul Worsley did make a custom rear brace that added an extra bit of toe in and kick up which helped settle the back end down a little on bumpy tracks.

Mr Preddy or Mr Doughty will be your best bets for this i expect!

I hate to say it, but we just ran xx4's

but from what you have said you have done it all right.

running the inner pivot in its normal height is better over the bumps but jacks up the inside rear in the corner, running it lower makes the rear end roll more and not jack the inside wheel, but its not so good over the bumps.

2mm sounds familiar...

if I remember right, there are 2 holes in the rear diff cover, you use the bottom one when you use a lower block, so the differance between the 2 holes is what you should take off the block, it might be 4mm ?

that way you will still keep the corect anti-squat...

im off for a shower now... I feel dirty helping out Losi drivers
