Hi
Just got my bullistorm 120a esc and soldered the capacitor to the battery terminals of the esc. Now, I switched on my esc and heard a hissing from the capacitors. No smoke or smell. The capacitors did go warm which I found unusual. I have soldered red to red and black to black, so what could be wrong? Please suggest what do to. I suspect I'll need new capacitors but I can't understand why this happened. Maybe dodgy bullistorm stuff! Ta |

Hmm, sounds like they've blown. I assume you're talking about an electrolytic capacitor (big can like)? Normally the top pops open, if they have a proper vent.
Bin it and replace it with a new one. Watch out for the stuff leaking out of it, it's nasty! |

Yes, 4 caps in a row covered in heat shrink! In fact when I pressed the rope I heard a little pop from one of them!
I will throw them away. I think the manufacturer got the wires the wrong way cos the fan with my bullistorm had to be pluged in the other way I.e. positive to negative! Well I tried the esc without the caps and it seemed to work fine although did get warm quickly (presumably due to no caps?) Where can I get suitable caps from and which ones do i need? Regards Naushad |
